Playtron, a gaming startup, has announced the launch of a gaming-focused stablecoin on the SUI blockchain. The ’Game Dollar,’ scheduled for release in Q4 2024, will be backed by short-term U.S. Treasuries and integrated into the Playtron GameOS ecosystem, including the SuiPlay0X1 handheld console.

This stablecoin is designed to simplify in-game transactions, subscriptions, and rewards, utilizing SUI’s high-speed infrastructure. The initiative highlights the increasing intersection of gaming and decentralized finance (DeFi), with Playtron leading the charge in Web3 gaming monetization.
